Dennis McCann is a lifelong Omahan, raised in South Omaha’s Brown Park neighborhood and a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School. He studied law enforcement at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and built a career dedicated to public safety and community service.

Dennis spent years leading the Omaha Area and Douglas County 911 emergency communications system, one of the most critical public safety operations in the state. Under his leadership, the system saw significant improvements in reliability, technology and response coordination, helping ensure rapid fire and police response for residents across the region.

He is widely recognized for his expertise in emergency communications technology and infrastructure, systems that form the backbone of safe and effective communities.

Dennis has worked closely with local, state and federal partners, including the City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska State Patrol, the National Weather Service and Eppley Airfield, on disaster preparedness, traffic systems and public safety coordination.

His service also includes leadership and collaboration with organizations such as the Salvation Army, Kidz Explore, the Health and Safety Council and the National Emergency Number Association. He has served on the Douglas County 911 Intelligent Traffic Systems Committee, co-chaired the Incident Command Review Committee and has been recognized by the Northwest Rotary Club for his vocational service.
